At the beginning of 1915, 3rd Division were holding a section of the line south of Ypres and the 4th Royal Fusiliers battalion of 9 Brigade, when not in the line were in billets in Locre (Loker). They moved back into these trenches on 1st January which the battalion diary reports as being “a quiet day”. Not quiet enough for Charles Blunt however, who was killed on this day. |
